Launcher Issues
Last Updated 3 years ago

Description:

The launcher and/or wow app does not launch.

From macOS 10.14 Mojave, Metal replaces OpenGL

From macOS 10.15 Catalina, 32 bits applications are not supported anymore.

First Solution:

You can therefore, if you have an Intel mac version, play WoW natively from the Legion extension, which uses the Metal graphics driver and is 64-bit.

If your OS version is older than 10.15, you will be able to run the older extensions that are still in 32 bits.

If you are equipped with the new Apple M1 (ARM processor and not Intel), this is not a problem either, because Rosetta 2 "emulates" Intel 64-bit applications, so you will be able to play from the Legion extension.

Note that Rosetta 2 will potentially be removed in the future when Apple considers that developers have had enough time to adapt their applications to the ARM processor.

Second Solution :

CrossOver (Wine): the easiest solution https://www.codeweavers.com/crossover

VirtualBox(VMWare, a Windows virtual machine https://www.virtualbox.org/ / https://www.vmware.com/

probably other solutions exist
